Red Carpet Ready: Hair

Now that you know my exciting news about working with the GRAMMY Style Studio I can bring you all the fun perks that've come along with the experience. With all the fab designers and celebrities that we've got lined up for this event, the last thing I wanted was to be alongside all those fab people looking busted!

I've had to give up all my regular treats and beauty regimens since I've been unemployed, and after deciding to let my hair grow long again I've been feeling really boring and a bit scraggly. I was so excited when Formula LA approached me to try out their product and receive a complimentary service -just in time for the Style Studio!

Formula LA is a new line of hair products made for LA residents, taking the city's specific environmental elements into account and targeting the effect of harsh sun, smog and hard water on our hair. A more detailed review will come soon, but check out Formula Cosmetics to find the shampoo and conditioner designed for your city.

To test out the products I booked an appointment at the Beverly Hills Color Bar, where I was also allowed to receive a color treatment. I wanted to go bold, but since I've been doing a lot of interviewing I opted for something simple that would just give my hair some life while I grow it out. My stylist, Nicole, and I decided that honey brown highlights would really spruce it up.

Rows and rows of color....if they don't have the color you want they'll go out and get it!

voila!
I love the final result! At first I had reservations about getting my hair done in a "white" salon -not everyone ca deal with  naturally kinky hair- but it turned out not to be much of a problem at all. I was comfortable because Nicole was comfortable, enthusiastic and very reassuring. Overall an excellent experience. Thank you Formula LA and BH Color Bar!

Be sure to check out Kelsi's Red Carpet Countdown to see her new hair as well -hot pink highlights inspired by Nicki Minaj! More fun beauty treatments to come as I prep for the GRAMMY Style Studio next week.... keep up!
